Time tracking, or the whole client job.
Busy is a solid time tool for consultancies and agencies, and it talks to Visma eAccounting. PixelTask puts the timer on the card with everything around it: board, client portal, proposals, chat and brand manuals. And the hours go straight to Visma eAccounting as invoice drafts.
UpdatedThe timer sits on the card.
In PixelTask the timer starts when the card moves to In progress. In Busy you log hours in a calendar or a form afterwards.
The client is in the room.
PixelTask has a client portal where the client sees the board, comments right in the file and approves. Busy has no client page.
Made by creatives.
PixelTask is a native Mac app you actually want to open, made by people who deliver design and websites themselves. Busy runs in the browser and is built for the finance department.

To be fair.
When Busy is the better fit
- You need time banks, flexitime, overtime and payroll approval for many employees.
- Your accountant picks the tools, and you run Finago Office or PowerOffice Go.
- You want capacity planning across a larger team.
When PixelTask is the better fit
- You want tasks, hours and the client on the same board.
- You send proposals, deliver brand manuals and want a chat per client.
- You want a Mac app in your language, also on iPhone and Android, that looks like something you made yourself.
What it looks like.

Questions and answers.
Is PixelTask an alternative to Busy?
For freelancers and small agencies, yes. Busy is time tracking and project planning for companies with payroll and time banks. PixelTask puts the timer on the task, with board, client portal, proposals, chat and brand manuals around it.
Do both connect to Visma eAccounting?
Yes. Busy pulls customers, projects and products from Visma and sends order drafts back; the hours themselves stay in Busy. PixelTask sends uninvoiced hours to Visma eAccounting as invoice drafts, with customer and references filled in, so you invoice from there. Both need the API add-on in Visma.
Can the client see anything in Busy?
Not as far as we can tell (as of October 2026). In PixelTask every client has their own page with board, files, chat and approval, with no app to install.
Does Busy store data in the EU?
Finago writes that it “primarily” processes personal data in the EU/EEA, but that data may be transferred to providers outside the EEA under the EU Commission's standard contractual clauses (as of October 2026). PixelTask stores data in Stockholm.
